How to automatically clip Twitch streams
You do not need to live in Twitch’s editor to catch moments. Here is a truthful workflow using live monitoring and official clips.
Step 1 — Pick channels worth monitoring
Automatic clipping works when chat is active. Start with streams you already review by hand. Add them in HighlightPilot after connecting Twitch OAuth.
Step 2 — Let cloud monitoring watch chat
HighlightPilot joins live chat in the cloud. You are not leaving a laptop on a muted stream. Monitoring follows your language filters and seat count.
Step 3 — Clips fire on chat spikes
When message velocity rises above baseline (sustained or burst) and spam checks pass, HighlightPilot creates an official Twitch clip via Helix and files it in your inbox.
Step 4 — Review before you publish
Not every spike is content. Use Keep/Miss feedback, quality scores, and why-clipped details. Optional email alerts can nudge you when new clips arrive.
What this guide does not cover
HighlightPilot does not clip VODs, detect audio peaks, or auto-post to Shorts/TikTok. If you need those, you will still use other tools after reviewing Twitch clips.
