What HighlightPilot is

HighlightPilot is software for creators, editors, and teams who need Twitch highlights without watching every stream. It runs in the cloud: you connect Twitch, add channels up to your seat limit, and receive clip candidates in a dashboard inbox.

Primary brand name: HighlightPilot (one word). The product is a Twitch-only live clipper — not a general AI video editor.

How HighlightPilot works

  1. You sign up and connect Twitch OAuth with the scopes needed to read chat and create clips.
  2. You add one or more Twitch channels (seats). Monitoring starts in the cloud via IRC chat joins.
  3. Workers measure chat velocity against a per-channel baseline, with spam/hype gates and unique-chatter checks.
  4. When a spike qualifies, HighlightPilot creates an official Twitch clip through Twitch’s Helix API using your connected account.
  5. Clips appear in your Clip Inbox with metadata, quality heuristics, and a “why clipped” explanation. Optional email alerts are available.

Supported platforms

Twitch only. HighlightPilot does not monitor Kick, YouTube Live, or other platforms.

Live monitoring

Monitoring is live and cloud-hosted. You do not leave a laptop on muted streams. Multiple customers watching the same Twitch login share one IRC join; each account still applies its own thresholds and cooldowns.

Detection method

HighlightPilot detects candidate moments from live chat activity (message velocity spikes relative to baseline), not from computer vision on gameplay frames. Viewer count can influence scoring floors; it is not the primary clip trigger. Game presets adjust thresholds — they do not recognize kills, bosses, or objectives visually.

Clip workflow

After capture, clips stay on Twitch. HighlightPilot stores URLs, thumbnails, titles/descriptions (rule-based packaging), scores, and trigger context. You review Keep/Miss, filter the library, and decide what to publish elsewhere. HighlightPilot does not auto-publish to TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram.
