Terms of Service

HighlightPilot is operated by an individual sole proprietor based in Florida, USA (“HighlightPilot,” “we,” “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to HighlightPilot. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy, and our Privacy Policy.

1. The Service

HighlightPilot is a web application that monitors Twitch channels you select, detects engagement signals from live audience energy, and may create official Twitch clips through Twitch’s APIs using your connected Twitch account. Clip video remains on Twitch. HighlightPilot stores metadata and review tools in your dashboard.

HighlightPilot also uses AI tools to review clip quality and operates its own social media accounts, as described in Sections 5 and 6.

The Service depends on Twitch availability, API limits, channel clip settings, and a valid Twitch connection. We do not control Twitch.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) and able to form a binding contract. If you use HighlightPilot for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

3. Accounts and Twitch connection

You are responsible for your credentials and for activity under your account. You must connect a Twitch account with the permissions we request (including clip creation). You authorize us to use those tokens to operate monitoring and clipping for your slots.

You may monitor channels other than your own Twitch login. You represent that your use complies with Twitch’s Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and Developer/API terms, and with applicable law. You are responsible for how you use clips you create.

4. Detection limits and content quality

HighlightPilot creates clip candidates. It works best on streams with active live chat. Quiet chats produce fewer useful clips. Detections can include false positives. Quality and “viral” scores are heuristics — not guarantees. You must review clips before publishing or relying on them. We do not promise any particular clip volume, accuracy, or monetization outcome.

5. AI features

HighlightPilot uses automated and AI tools, including models provided by OpenAI, to assess whether clips are worth keeping or sharing, to transcribe speech, to pick thumbnails and trims, and to draft titles and captions. To do this we may process sampled video frames, audio transcripts, recent chat messages, and clip metadata, including for a sample of clips created through customer accounts. AI output is advisory and can be wrong. Review it before relying on it.

For customers, HighlightPilot does not: process Twitch VODs or old broadcasts; detect game kills or combat events; convert your clips or auto-publish them to your own TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram accounts; or provide permanent video hosting for your clips.

6. HighlightPilot social media accounts

HighlightPilot may select public Twitch clips, including clips created through customer accounts, and publish edited versions (for example vertical crops, captions, intro/outro branding, and AI-written descriptions) on HighlightPilot’s own Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube accounts to showcase and promote the Service. To prepare these videos we download the clip from Twitch and render it on our servers.

Streamers, creators, and rights holders who want a video removed can email support@highlightpilot.com with a link to the post. We will review and remove content we posted promptly. Streamers who have opted out through streamer opt-out can also ask us not to feature their clips.

7. Billing, trials, and cancellation

Pricing is disclosed on the Pricing page and in-product before you confirm paid slots. Current launch pricing includes a limited free trial on the first monitored channel, then a per-channel monthly fee processed by Stripe when billing is enabled.

Stopping a channel removes it from monitoring right away. That is separate from canceling your Stripe subscription.
Slot billing may not refund unused days in an already-paid billing period when you reduce slots mid-cycle (quantity sync typically does not prorate refunds downward). Your next invoice reflects the lower paid-slot count.
If paid slot quantity reaches zero, the subscription is typically set to cancel at period end so prepaid allowance remains until the current billing period ends.
Adding slots mid-cycle may create prorated charges. Promo and free-trial slots stack with paid slots when redeemed in-product.
Trial expiry without paid entitlement pauses monitoring.

Taxes may apply. Chargebacks or unpaid invoices may lead to suspension. Refunds, if any, are handled case-by-case unless required by law.

8. Streamer opt-out

Twitch channel owners may verify identity and opt out of HighlightPilot monitoring via streamer opt-out. We honor active opt-outs by stopping monitors for that broadcaster id and blocking re-adds. Opt-out does not delete historical clips already created on Twitch or in customer libraries.

9. Acceptable use

You must follow our AUP, Twitch rules, and applicable law. We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the Service, evade billing, harass others, or create legal risk.

10. Intellectual property

HighlightPilot software, branding, and site content are owned by the HighlightPilot operators or licensors. Twitch, game titles, and streamer names/marks belong to their respective owners; HighlightPilot is not affiliated with or endorsed by Twitch Interactive, Inc., or those publishers/creators unless we say so in writing.

Official Twitch clips and underlying stream content remain subject to Twitch terms and the rights of the broadcaster and rights holders. Example clips on our marketing site are illustrative public Twitch links — not endorsements.

11. Third-party services

The Service integrates Stripe, Twitch, OpenAI, Meta (Instagram), TikTok, Google (YouTube), Cloudflare, email providers, and hosting/analytics providers. Their terms and privacy policies apply to their processing.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that clips will be suitable for any purpose.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HIGHLIGHTPILOT AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO HIGHLIGHTPILOT FOR THE SERVICE IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR USD $50 IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.

14. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify HighlightPilot and its operators against claims arising from your use of the Service, your monitoring of channels, your clips or publications, or your violation of these Terms, the AUP, Twitch rules, or law — except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

15. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request account closure. We may suspend or terminate access for violations, non-payment, legal risk, or Service discontinuation. Provisions that by nature should survive (including IP, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity) survive termination.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance, except where mandatory law requires another process.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. Nothing in this section removes mandatory consumer protections that apply to you under the laws of your country of residence.
